So, fans of the show will remember that Lily went away for a while to San Francisco, leaving Marshall behind. In season 2, episode 11, Lily hears an old answering machine message from Ted, where a bad word is substituted for the word ‘grinch’.
They made a big deal out of the word, which made people believe that word might have been described as one of the worst words out there. However, filmmakers claimed that it was actually the alternative word for a female dog.
