Robin appears to have inconsistent feelings about nicknames. In season 2, episode 1, Robin gets away with calling Ted ‘Teddy Bear’, although she later tells Ted that she hates nicknames and wouldn’t let him get away with using them.
However, in season 5, episode 6, when Robin is getting together with Barney, she’s more than happy to indulge in nicknames. They call each other things like ‘R-Train’ and ‘B-Nasty’ amongst other nicknames. Is this a character inconsistency, or does Robin prefer Barney at this point?
