Prince Philip decided to give his role in Patronage of the Chartered Management Institute to Sophie. This decision was a very grand gesture and hasn’t really ever been seen before. To be picked as your in-law’s heiress is a very big deal, and shows a lot about how Philip feels about Sophie.
Despite her already performing many royal duties, she has taken on even more since Prince Philip’s retirement. This choice also shows a lot of trust and faith in the Countess, and the Queen and Prince believe that she will be more than capable of fulfilling them to an absolute standard.
