In recent reports, it has been suggested that Prince Edward may actually be the favorite of the Queen and Philip. Unlike most royals, Prince Edward was never awarded a ‘dukedom’ when he married Sophie. Reports have suggested that this is because the Queen intends to grant Edward the title of the Duke of Edinburgh, after Prince Philip.
This would be a great honor for the Prince, as he would then be walking in his father’s footsteps. Along with this, Sophie allegedly will inherit the Queen’s title before she became Queen and be granted the title of Duchess of Edinburgh.
