We really don’t know what the article that goes along with that headline was about. We can’t make it out from the photo, and our imagination isn’t vivid enough to try and guess what possible informative piece of news reporting could stem from a headline like “Bridges help people cross rivers.”
Maybe it’s an article about stating the obvious? It’s just filled with useless – but true – facts like “the ocean is wet” and “don’t stick your fingers in electrical outlets.” We might read that article, actually, if only because it probably means the newspaper is going out of business and nobody there cares anymore.
