The definition of cosmic irony basically holds that the universe is vast and ever-expanding, and we’re tiny and unimportant. Therefore, every so often, it reminds us of that fact by throwing a wrench into our works. In this case, it was a gathering on the issue of safety.
When it concluded, two people who had just attended the very same meeting were involved in a car accident, with one jaywalking and being hit by the other, who was driving on the wrong side of the street. Maybe they should’ve listened a little more attentively in the meeting…
