Both Suzanne and Billy were overwhelmed when they saw the cathedral up close, but Billy wanted to get a closer look. He asked his mother if they could make their way into the building, and his mom complied. However, she wanted to take a few photographs before they went inside.
So, they posed for a few selfies with the Notre-Dame in the background, and it seems as though this decision ultimately meant that they were free from the destruction that was about to ensue. Instead, they caught the start of this destruction on camera.
