Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck starred in 2003’s “Gigli”, which evidenced to be not only a box office bomb but a pivotal punching bag. Lopez said she had been in a high-profile relationship (with Ben Affleck) and it ended badly – which contributed to the awful feeling of having to promote the film.
Having to constantly be in the spotlight over a failed relationship, as well as a failed movie, was excruciating. “I was in the tabloids every other week about how my life was falling apart,” she recalled. “It was a tough time.”
