Jennifer Lopez’s parents are both Hispanic (Puerto-Rican, to be exact). However, the Puertorican Princess is not good with the Spanish language and has a tough time speaking Spanish even with it being her mother tongue.
Whilst Lopez sometimes works in fragments of Spanish into her songs and understands Spanish better than she speaks it, as it turns out, she was pushed as a child to primarily speak English. Her parents preferred actually that their children spoke English mainly at home in the belief that it would land better job opportunities.
