While divorces happen every day, they’re not a common occurrence in the Royal Family. It’s understood that when you marry into the monarchy, you do everything possible to keep the relationship together, no matter how difficult that may be.
A divorce is always a last resort, and even then it’s not welcomed with open arms. Appearances are everything to the royals, and there’s nothing worse than the public shame that comes from a married couple parting ways. It’s even worse when the divorce comes about because of a scandal!
