The relationship between Prince Philip and Sarah Ferguson was openly strained. After a reported scandal involving another man after her and Prince Andrew split, Philip has never looked at her fondly.
It would appear that Philip believes that Fergie ruined the Royal Family’s reputation, and holds a grudge against her even now. According to royal authors, she is now a bit of an outcast. She is no longer welcome at Balmoral, and the Royal Family generally don’t treat her like family. That well and truly rules her out of the race to favoritism.
