It has always been clear to the public that the Queen didn’t approve of the break down of Charles and his first wife, Diana’s relationship. Divorce and separation aren’t encouraged if you are a royal. However, Charles stated that his marriage to Camilla was not negotiable, and they got married in 2005.
Camilla didn’t get very fair treatment from the press and the public, as everyone saw it as her taking Diana’s place, however in recent years, she has been more accepted than ever and continues to gain popularity.
