The chances are that you’ve seen photos of your parents from back in the day and marveled at their hairstyles. A lot of them were probably rocking the perm because that was a popular hairstyle, particularly in the ‘80s.
They’re less common nowadays, partly because they can really damage your hair if done badly. It’s for that reason that some people only opt for a partial perm, kind of like this woman did. Everything’s going on up top while the rest of her hair is perfectly normal.
