Cher is a free spirit. She doesn’t tie herself to one genre. She experiments with different genres as her creativity and inspiration leads her. Starting out in the 60s, she’d release folk songs, in the early 70s she switched to pop music, and in the later part of the decade she was into disco, come the 80s and she was into Rock, and from there on it has always been dance hits.
Her genre-switching doesn’t speak to a lack of discipline but rather a strong creative energy.
