When the iconic David Fincher approached Jake Gyllenhaal about playing the lead in his new movie Zodiac, he was more than flattered. David had seen his performance in Donnie Darko, and was very impressed. But if Jake thought that would earn him special treatment, he was wrong.
Jake was often forced to do the same scene ten times, which deeply offended him. But even though David’s perfectionist and demanding directing took a toll on their relationship, the final movie got amazing reviews, so he clearly knew what he was doing.
