Although Suzanne was watching the fire unfold before her very eyes, she just couldn’t believe what was going on in front of her. There was part of her that hoped it wasn’t real, and that the famous building wasn’t on fire. In fact, she still believed that the smoke was coming from a residential block rather than the cathedral.

It wasn’t until Suzanne and Billy saw the iconic spire collapse and fall down onto the city of Paris that she resigned herself to the truth. Notre-Dame was burning, and it seemed to be getting worse.
