Perhaps one of the reasons no one else felt the need to step up and do something about the hit and run was because of the bystander effect. People often believe that if other people are around and also witness an injustice, then they will probably get help or take the necessary steps.
Many people saw what happened to Andrew’s car, and yet Ziarra was the only one to do anything about it. Not only did people assume someone else would, they also didn’t want anyone to think they caused the damage.
