There have been plenty of instances outside of Glenbard East High School where dress code policies have been controversial. One of these occurred in Fort Bragg where a seventh-grader was told to hide her shirt because the teacher found it offensive.
The top featured a slogan aimed at fighting against prejudice, leading the mom to question why it could be deemed inappropriate. She applauded her child for being brave enough to fight for those often marginalized by society. The school later apologized for the teacher’s actions after reviewing their dress code policy.
