Gale Weathers is a journalist and the author of a novel on Sidney’s mother, Maureen Prescott’s death. She is highly-driven and manipulative, and is willing to do just about anything for a good story. Gale arrives in Woodsboro after the events at Casey Becker’s house, and finds herself more involved in the story than reporting it.
Her time in Woodsboro brings her not only encounters with a serial killer but also love, which she finds with the Deputy Sheriff Dewey Riley. Throughout the four Scream films, Gale finds her softer side, and instead of chasing sensational stories, fame and money, she chases the things she comes to find are more important, like love and family.
