Matriarch of the family, Carol Foster-Lambert, was played by Suzanne Somers. Carol already has three children of her own when she marries Frank, and together they navigate the struggles of raising all of their children in one household.
Before Step by Step, Somers played a major role in the hit sitcom Three’s Company. After the fifth season, however, Somers was fired from the show and sued ABC network for $2 million. Unlucky for her, she only received $30,000 for that settlement.
