Carol’s outspoken mother, Ivy Baker, was played by Peggy Rea. Rea was an accomplished actress by the time she joined the Step by Step Cast for season one. She played a supporting role in the Tennessee Williams’ play, A Streetcar Named Desire.
Rea was in many tv shows starting from the ’50s. She appeared in shows such as I Love Lucy, All In The Family, MacGyver, and The Golden Girls. She also starred in a few movies including Cold Turkey and In Country.
