When it came time to pay the bill, even though his friends tried to argue with him, Cohen insisted on paying. After all, it’s something he had wanted to do for them! Working as a server, Cohen was often tipped by his customers in quarters.
Therefore, he obviously had a lot of quarters on hand. He brought his change with him to the restaurant, and paid for the meal with both a $20 bill and his quarters. He even left a very nice tip!
