While the restaurant’s owner, Yao Liu, did apologize for the distasteful post, they also downplayed the whole situation while claiming that it was all just meant to be a “joke.”
In a statement that has since been deleted, the restaurant clarified, “It was posted as a lighthearted way of saying that something like this can be annoying to people that work in the restaurant/retail industry,” explaining that they try to keep their page “funny and relatable” and had “no idea” that it would offend anyone.
