When people heard about Cohen’s fundraiser, they immediately got online to contribute to the cause. These people agreed that what the restaurant had done was completely out of line.
They wanted to show their support for Cohen, and let restaurants all over Lynchburg – and the country – know that paying with change is perfectly acceptable. While Cohen didn’t reach his goal of $10,000, he got at least half that. $5,000 is definitely more than enough to do what he set out to do.
