This incident at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards may, in fact, go down in history as the worst thunder-stealing moment in the entertainment industry.
The twenty-year-old Taylor excitedly got on stage to collect her award for Best Female Video, but Kanye so strongly disagreed with her win he decided to jump on stage, steal her mic in the middle of her thank you speech – and say Beyonce should have won. Kanye received plenty of backlash, but it was already too late – he had successfully made Tay-Tay’s big moment all about himself.
