James Franco has taken a similar tactic to Selena Gomez in the past, although rather than using a blanket, he opted for a cardigan instead. This was probably a more convenient solution because he was likely wearing it before taking it off and draping it over his head.
It also offered more visibility than Selena’s garment, as the actor could probably still see where he was going without showing his face to the paparazzi. It might not have been convenient walking around like this, but some sacrifices are worth making.
