James wasn’t simply using the arrival of Archie to try and be relevant to his thousands of subscribers. He was trying to advertise his new Boomf Bomb, and he believed that the child’s birth would help him do that.
He said that all kids – or princes and princesses, as he put it – deserved to be showered in confetti, and that’s exactly what this new product would do. Although James wasn’t necessarily responsible for writing the newsletter, he does have a hand in most of what goes on at the company.
