Their engagement announcement came in 2010, eight years after they first met in 2002 – far longer than previous royal engagements had taken to happen. The truth is, William had cold feet. He didn’t want to rush things, and for that, you have to respect his attitude.
On some level, the period of time in which the couple was briefly broken up probably did wonders for the strength of their relationship. So in some ways, we should be thankful for William’s rational way of thinking. Maybe a wedding wouldn’t have taken place if he had rushed into things?
