A noted reclusive billionaire, Robert Mercer is a man whose life has been steeped in controversy for decades and decades. His path to wealth began relatively humbly with a deep understanding of computer science that was put to work at IBM early in the 70s (talk about a good time to get into the biz).
Since then, Mercer has largely worked on different hedge funds, some of which have become incredibly profitable. Interestingly, the guy is mysterious enough that no one is really sure just how much money he really has.
