Now worth $4.1 billion, Howard Schultz, who’s famous for transforming Starbucks into an international brand, is a true self-made man. The son of a cloth diaper delivery driver, Schultz grew up in a housing project in Brooklyn and was the first person in his family to graduate college.
After he took charge of Starbucks in the 1980s, he expanded it from 11 stores to more than 30,000 worldwide. He stepped down as executive chairman and board member of the company in 2018, and he is now chairman emeritus.
