Apparently, back in 1959, there were few safety restrictions and parenting guides that would have made this veterinarian Mom concerned about whether or not it would be okay to bring her fairly young son along with her to work for the day.
This kid probably thought his Mom was the coolest parent in town. After all, we have not heard of too many Moms letting their kids play with a pet lion for the day.
