It was not only parents who have gone through changes in their techniques over time. This is a picture from a 1947 music class, where children are being taught how to play the piano from their music instructor.
These days, kids are given a lot more individual attention. We are actually fairly impressed that these kids actually learnt to play, although we have no way of finding out how well they actually learnt to play the instrument.
