When I was a junior in high school, I was asked by one of my teachers to help judge the junior high school talent show. No one told me that I should be friendly and supportive to each performer. Instead, I took the Simon Cowell approach. So, when an act that was just middle school girls showing off outfits, I told them what I honestly thought: they were not talented. The number of evil glares I got not only that day but in the following weeks still haunts me.
