The horrifying reality was that Karina had entered the taiga where she tried to run after her dad until she lost track of him, and was left completely stranded, with her dog, in the Siberian wilderness. Talina, who is no stranger to the dangers of the Siberian woods, feared for her daughter’s life.
Right away, she contacted the authorities. A search team of 100 people was put together to head out into the forest and try to find the young girl. The team did not go unprepared, each member carried weapons in order to fend off wild bears if necessary. Helicopters were also sent, gliding back and forth over the area in hopes of spotting Karina from above.
