Following her rescue, Karina had to spend weeks in the hospital while she recovered. The doctors did numerous tests on the child, but lastly determined that there would thankfully be no lasting damage.
She also had to be examined by psychologists, who were shocked to discover that she wasn’t only physically healthy, but her mind was also stable despite suffering from an incredibly traumatizing event. Karina’s parents were grateful that not only did their daughter return safely to them, but that she was going to be okay.
