Sleep sack
If you worry that you’ll get bitten by bed bugs when staying in a hostel or Airbnb, you might like to bring your own sleep sack. This can take up a lot of room, and many places won’t allow you to sleep in them anyway. If you are nervous about the cleanliness of a hostel or hotel, then do your research and check out their reviews online prior to booking. If people don’t like the service, they’ll soon complain online. Hotels have to keep their sheets clean otherwise they will gain bad reviews, something that pretty much ruins their livelihood. It’s safe to leave the sleep sack at home if you check out the reviews first.
Valuables
Do you need to bring your laptop, iPad, point and shoot camera and your phone? Probably not, so choose just one, or maybe two of them to bring with you. You’ll save room, and you won’t have to worry so much about losing your valuables all of the time. Your phone is probably capable of doing everything you need when on vacation so try and avoid bringing anything more than this in terms of valuables.
