We’re still waiting for the best thing since sliced bread, and we’re also wondering what expression people used before sliced bread was actually invented. Interestingly enough, the first sliced bread didn’t sell well at all.

Otto Rohwedder from Missouri was the guy who invented the bread slicing machine in 1928, and people though the bread looked sloppy when already sliced. Clearly, they came around, and sliced bread is now one of the most basic items people throw in their cart at the supermarket.
