Radio was booming during this roaring decade, and the very first radio station in the US was started in Pittsburgh in 1920. Just a few years later, there were hundreds of commercial radio stations all over the country.

These days were the radio’s big hey days, because it was before the invention of the TV which as we all know, blew everyone out of the ballpark. The radio couldn’t compete as it didn’t have live images along with the sound.
