[post_page_title]Circuses were in their prime[/post_page_title]
The circus was the hottest new thing in the early ’20s. People in America and Europe had never before seen lions, elephants, and other exotic animals (not even on TV, since the television wouldn’t be invented until 1927).

Today much has changed, and increasingly people find it cruel to keep these majestic animals in cages, far away from the natural habitats where they belong. Most of the iconic circuses and shows that were popular when tis photo was taken, have been shut down in recent years.
