As we’ve already mentioned, movies and radio were on the rise during this decade, but earlier forms of entertainment could still compete for the crowds. So called Vaudevilles were popular shows to visit. They were made up of a somewhat random mix of comedy theater, musicians, magicians and dance numbers.

These shows can be seen as the predecessors to Broadway musicals, and it’s sort of a shame they don’t exist anymore. Who wouldn’t want to see a show that combines all the most fun types of live entertainment?
