[post_page_title]People danced like this[/post_page_title]
The Charleston was the coolest and most popular way to dance back in the ’20s, even though by today’s standards it’s very different from the way people dance today.

The dance, which involves a lot of kicking up your heels to the side while almost touching them with your hands, became popular thanks to the popular musical Runnin’ Wild from 1923, where they danced like this. The dance is named after the harbor city Charleston, in South Carolina.
