Even though this step father decided to take back his money before the wedding, he still lost a bit. Since event vendors and venues require deposits before the wedding, he had to call them and ask for refunds.
He was able to get most of the money back but the venue was not willing to give him a full refund. He ended up losing about $1,500 in the end, but to him, it was the only choice left.
