In 1977, Sally Field and Burt Reynolds were both cast as the leads in a brand new production; Smokey and the Bandit.
This comedy adventure movie gave them the chance to work together and show off their talents, but it also gave them the chance to get to know each other personally. Nobody could deny their on-screen chemistry, and it was this connection between the two of them that thrust the movie into the limelight and made it a success.
