While Burt sometimes only had flings these women, his relationship with Sally Field was different. They were together for a whopping five years before they decided to call it a day in 1985.
During this time, Burt was at the peak of his career, and it seemed as though his relationship had helped him get to that point. Although breaking off his relationship with Sally seemed like the right decision at the time, he later noted in a Vanity Fair interview that it was one of the biggest regrets of his life and that he didn’t know what he was thinking.
