One perk of being a royal is getting to receive public funding. While Meghan and Harry were still royals living on the grounds of the Windsor Castle, a proportion of the nation’s taxes were being used to help protect the couple and keep them financially supported.
Of course, this is a privilege that only active members of the Royal Family get. So as soon as they moved out of their royal life, these funds were stopped, forcing them to be financially independent.
