When Smash Mouth announced they’d be going on tour during the summer of 2015 with Toad the Wet Sprocket, they invited fans via instagram to participate in a contest to help come up with a name for the tour.
One twitter user decided to sarcastically poke fun at the band, who had been notorious in the 1990s and early 2000s, suggesting “The Washed Up Tour” as a name. Smash Mouth did not see the humor behind this, and blocked the fan on Instagram.
