When applying for a job, there’s little that helps as much as having a good word put in for you. A person was waiting for an interview in a bookstore one day, when they noticed comedian and famously erudite person Stephen Fry.
They struck up a conversation with Fry, who – upon hearing that they were interviewing there – insisted on hanging around with them until the interview began. Once the manager arrived to take them to the interview, Fry insisted that the manager hire the interviewee – which they did. Thanks, Stephen!
