Whoever came up with the idea of umbrellas: thank you. They have saved us during more than one freak rainstorm that just came out of nowhere. But it turns out that using an umbrella isn’t always the best option. Sometimes you just ought to stick to a trusty poncho. This person learned what can go wrong with an umbrella while walking on a particularly windy day.
They watched as the top half of their umbrella sped away, caught in the gusts. We feel that there’s a metaphor to be found here, but it’s been swept away from us.
