As if this wasn’t enough to completely reveal the joke, there’s more. It would be almost impossible to actually get your hands on a purple diamond. According to sources, most pink and purple diamonds have only ever been found in one mine in Australia, called the Argyle Diamond Mine.
This would explain why the stones were so popular. Diamonds are generally fairly rare, but one of this color is virtually non-existent and almost impossible to get your hands on. Even if someone did, they would see that the stone isn’t exactly purple, but rather a pinky hue. Still beautiful, but nothing like the photograph.
