In the 1970s, Cash really got into religion and began to associate himself with a few evangelists.
He even changed the tone of his concerts, as he started to preach and encourage his fans to accept into their lives Jesus Christ, as well as condemning promiscuity and violence. Later on in his life he said that he regretted ever doing this had eventually come to a point that he accepts everyone for who they are.
